The Kafka Family Photo Album

1 March – 2 June 2024 at Stabi Kulturwerk | EXTENDED UNTIL 7 JULY 2024

On the 100th anniversary of Franz Kafka’s death, Stabi Kulturwerk is showing an extensive exhibition of around 130 original photographs of the Kafka family, many of them have never been published before and are on display for the first time in this exhibition. The photographs bear witness to the deep bond between Franz Kafka and his family. The bond was closer than many of the author’s statements would suggest. They show a world-class writer in the circle of his relatives and also tell of Jewish emancipation between the Habsburg monarchy and the first Czechoslovak Republic.
